Porto and Fado in Coimbra

 It was a free day on our tour so a small group of us organised to take a train to Porto - supposed to be one of the most scenic towns if Portugal and it is a bit over an hour on a fast train from Coimbra    We purchased our tickets the day before and organised to spend four or so hours there     To gauge timeframes I inputted the parameters into Chat GPT - telling it to organised a four hour walking tour of the city starting at 10 am and getting us back to the station in time for our return train   

From Chat GPT we input to Google maps and we had the perfectly timed tour That took in the following
1. São Bento Station
Admire historic azulejo tiles

  

2. Porto Cathedral
5-min uphill walk
Views + optional cloisters 

   

3. Walk Across Dom Luís I Bridge
Cross upper deck for iconic views

    

4. Jardim do Morro
Take in Gaia-side panoramas

Return to Porto side and then the riverside
Arrive at Cais da Ribeira

6. Douro River Cruise

     

Board a Rabelo boat at Ribeira dock
6 Bridges Cruise
Enjoy views of bridges, wine cellars, and hills

We then caught the Funicular back to the top - had a quick coffee and tart before boarding the train again to return to Coimbra.
