Rock of Cashel

We left Kilkenny on a cold and overcast morning and travelled to Cashel - more specifically the Rock of Cashel - a very very old church on a rocky outcrop just out of the Cashel village.  We met an excellent tour guide who told us about the physical, cultural, religious history of the church and the current preservation activities.

We rugged up against the cold with multiple layers - while it might be spring, and the temperature says it should be warm (18), it was bitterly cold.  After a few hours of wandering around the cold, we ventured down to the village for a warming lunch of vegetable soups in a local backery.

Onward to Cork, arriving at our lodgings early afternoon, we dispensed of our luggage and walked into Cork centre.  A wander around for a few hours and then dinner at a nice Fusion Asian restaurant where we enjoyed some hot and spicy Asian to warm us up.
