The Cliffs of Moher and a wayward phone

Leaving our lodgings early, we travelled to the ferry that would take us across the water from Tarbert in the south to Kilmer in the north.  This saved a few hours of travel east through Limerick and then back west.    The ferry was only a 20 minutes journey and was seamless and on time.

We travelled through the small towns and villages to reach the Cliffs of Moher mid morning.  We walked the north path as far as we could.  There were crowds when we arrived but they had increased three fold when we were walking back….people everywhere.   The weather was mostly overcast, however for a few minutes the clouds broke and the sun shone….however the temperature was not much changed - a top of 14, so we were both dressed in winter clothes….thank goodness for new shoes too!

We stopped on a small roadway on Corkscrew mountain to take pictures of us on some of the beautiful stone walls - which were a real feature of the area.  We were playing around with timed photos, when the traffic stopped so we ran across the road to take a selfie…..leaving my phone on top of the car.  Some kilometres down the road, F asked where my phone was…..ARGHHHH!  Thank goodness we had shared each others location and were able to track my phone, which was laying beside the road some hundreds of metres from where we had  stopped and had slid off on the hairpin bend, and thankfully no following traffic had run over it….not a scratch!  Luck was on my side!

We then travelled to Galway…and are looking forward to a pub and Irish music dinner!
